Actor Viggo Mortensens mother is American and his father is Danish. Before his parents divorce, they moved around a lot, living in Denmark, Venezuela and Argentina. Viggo Mortensen made his film debut in Witness (1985), but he really became a household name in his role as Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings movies. Viggo Mortensen is a keen painter and photographer and has often said he would like to quit acting to pursue his other talents. He has a son called Henry.

Eastern Promises star Viggo Mortensen is tired! He has been in a string of successful movies in the past few years and has been travelling all over the world working hard to promote them. His answer to his exhaustion? No not a long a holiday, Viggo wants to quit making movies for good!
