Kids' Choice Awards: Michelle Obama gives Taylor Swift the Big Help Award

Monday 10:00 PM, 02/04/2012
At Saturday's (March 31) Kids' Choice Awards, first lady Michelle Obama made her inaugural appearance at the annual awards show. She was on hand -- with daughters Sasha and Malia -- to present the night's Big Help Award to Taylor Swift.

"Every step of the way [Taylor] has always made it a point to give back," said Obama in her presentation speech. "She's support childrens' charities, she's worked to combat bullying and given away books to schools and libraries all around the country. She's given so much of her own money to victims of natural disasters here and around the world."

After a video montage chronicling Swift's philanthropy, she took the stage to accept the award and thanked her fans for their contributions to helping other people, too.
