History: Pop girl group which consisted of Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell was according to BBC, the best-selling girl group of all time. Their debut single "Wannabe" in 1996 hit the number one spot on top lists in 31 countries , what was to be the beginning of their "global phenomenon". When Spice Girls later released their first album, "Spice", it sold over 23 million copies worldwide which clearly hit the records. With only three albums, the groups has managed to sell more than 60 million copies. The hysteria around the female group has been compared to the Beatlemania. Geri Halliwell left the group in 1998 in the middle of numerous rumours, bu the band kept going until 2000 to focus on their solo careers. Spice Girls re-formed in 2007 for their Reunion Tour as they launched their Greatest Hits-album.
Awards: Four BRIT Awards, three American Music Awards, three MTV Europe Music Awards, one MTV Video Music Awards and three World Music Awards.

Our suspicions were true! Spice Girls' Geri Halliwell and her boyfriend Fabrizio Politi are engaged! The two have only been seriously dating since November, so they must really have fallen hard for each other! Geri's friends spilled the beans to Heat Magazine in England saying that the engagement ring is worth £223,000! Congratulations Ginger Spice, you deserve some happiness!

Victoria Beckham left London's swanky Claridges hotel to head to Heathrow airport after a fleeting visit to the United Kingdom. Posh Spice was in town to launch her new fashion collection at the near by Selfridges. Victoria was all dressed in black and looked unusually sad, is she grieving?
