Hollywood has found its Lisbeth Salander!
Rooney will try to fill the shoes of brilliant Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, who played Lisbeth in the original Swedish movies.

Over the past few months Hollywood has been turned upside down to find the right actress to play the role of Lisbeth Salander, a character in the Swedish hit movie "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". If you're fans you probably know that Summit is making American versions of the popular film series, and now they've finally got their full cast! It seems it was relatively unknown actress, Rooney Mara who managed to seal the deal for the highly coveted role of Lisbeth Salander in the end, beating out stars like Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson and Emma Watson who even cut off all her hair to audition!. Rooney will be playing alongside cast members such as Daniel Craig, Stellan Skarsgard and Robin Wright Penn.

Do you think this girl has got what it takes to play Lisbeth? We're a bit torn because on one hand she does have the right look, but Lisbeth is a very extreme character and judging by these red carpet photos of Rooney she looks to be a very wholesome and cutesy American girl. What do you think, will Rooney be able to bring it on the big screen?

As a swede I'm so proud of Noomi Rapace, she is
amazing and it will probably be tough for Ms Mara
to make Lisbet her own..

I really hope she can fill the shoes. but
honestly, she's to innocent looking....and I don't
think daniel craig is the best actor for the role
of mikael blomkvist...but i hope. 'though robin
wright penn is so perfect for the role as erika
berger.

From the picture she looks too tall. Maybe it's
the heels. Either way I think Noomi was wonderful.
The scene in the beginning of the movie when a
bunch of men try to beat her up. That was my
faviorte scene by far. I couldn't picture this new
girl doing it

Noomi is the bomb, and absolutely ROCKED the role
of Lisbeth...
Rooney, sorry to say, is way too
cutesy tootsie to play Lisbeth, and doesn't hold a
flame to Noomi.
Hollywood, learn to make good
movies BY YOURSELF.

Nope. No one can be a better Lisbeth Salander than
Noomi Rapace! She's an amazing actress. I don't
even want to see the previews of this remake. ugh!
