The Mamma Mia-crew couldn't be more happy when the good news reached them: "Mamma Mia" has beaten the Batman movie "The Dark Knight" - one of the biggest successes within the film industry. The Abba musical has now stolen the first spot on America's movie most rented movie-list. The now past away Heath Ledger who stars as the Joker in Batman, has helped the movie to keep its first spot as the best selling movie. "The Dark Knight" has also been out in the stores for a longer time, so it's rather normal, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Batman sold over 13, 5 millions of copies only the first (!) week, incredible! But last week the crew got to see "Mamma Mia", based on the musical with the same name, beat them on the list.

Sad news has reached us and we quote the star's spokesperson: "Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening." The rep added: "Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery. No further statement will be issued at this time." Last month it was announced that the actress, would participate with Meryl Streep, Sally Field, Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson and Charlize Theron in the Sept. 8 telethon Stand Up to Cancer, to be simultaneously broadcast on CBS, NBC and ABC. The star rose to fame as a teenager on "Married with Children." And is currently playing in another sitcom,"Samantha Who". We she will recover quickly and wish her all the best!

Abba made a short comeback yesterday evening when the movie Mamma Mia premiered in their home country of Sweden. Pierce Brosnan, Meryl Streep, Colin Firth and Amanda Seyfried had all travleled to Stockholm to attend the premiere and they couldn't have picked a better night as the weather in the Swedish capital was warm and sunny!

The movie Mamma Mia premieres in Sweden tomorrow but the stars of the movie have already arrived in Stockholm. Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep and all the Abba members were at Grand Hotel today for a press conference. They will also be attending the premiere tomorrow which will be the biggest premiere ever held in Stockholm. We hope they enjoy their stay!

Meryl Streep chose a red dress for the premiere of her new movie Mamma Mia in London last night. The movie is based on the play by Swedish duo Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson (one half of Abba) and stars Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård as well as Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth. Young actress Amanda Seyfried also has a leading role in the movie and some of you may recognise her from the movie Mean Girls with Lindsay Lohan!
