History: Marc Jacobs is a high fashion brand designed and created by Marc Jacobs himself. He started the clothing line with Robert Duffy which in the beginning formed Jacobs Duffy Designs Inc. But after Marc's first owned designed collection for women, the name was changed to Marc Jacobs. Marc Jacobs was awarded 1987 for being the youngest designer within the fashion industry's highest tribute, The Council of Fashion Designers of America. Marc Jacobs moved onto to his first own full collection of menswear in 1994.

Last night was a real who's who in the fashion world on the red carpet for the annual CFDA Fashion Awards
at the 2009 at the Lincoln Center in New York! Many designers arrived with their favourite celebrity clients as dates too. Michael Kors arrived with his BFF Heidi Klum, Jason Wu with Diane Kruger, Anna Sui with White Stripes rocker Jack White and the Rodarte designers arrived with Kirsten Dunst. Supermodels like Agyness Deyn and Doutzen Kroes were also everywhere to be seen as well as Vogue legend Anna Wintour. Everyone looked absolutely gorgeous of course, very high fashion!

French oscar winner actress Marion Cotillard shopped til she dropped yesterday with a friend at the Marc Jacobs store in Soho, New York City yesterday. We have to say the usually skinny Marion was looking way more curvy than usual and she was wearing a flowing empire waisted dress that made us think maybe she has a little bundle of joy growing in there! Marion is dating french top actor Guillaume Canet. We think maybe congratulations might be in order!

The Veuve Clicquot Polo Match On Governors Island in New York City happened this weekend. For those of you who don't know, Polo is the most exclusive sporting event in the world, even British Prince Harry was there! Many celebs and socialites scramble for invitations every year, but a lucky few are always on the VIP list. Madonna and her family are really into Polo and all things horsey, so of course she was there, with her two boys Rocco and David Banda. The lucky kids got to rub shoulders with Kate Hudson, Marc Jacobs and his husband Lorenzo Martone as well as Chloë Sevigny, who looked quirky fantastic as usual!
