Studied English at Columbia University. Gyllenhaal's first film roles were directed by her father: Waterland.(Has a daughter, Ramona, with fellow actor Peter Sarsgaard. Is a descendant of the Swedish noble Gyllenhaal family.

So inlove! Peter is one of Maggie's brother Jake's best friends.
Spring is definitely wedding season! The latest Hollywood couple to say their "I do's" are Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard. They were married in a luxury hotel in Italy this past weekend along with 40 of their closest friends and family. Of course Maggie's brother Jake Gyllenhaal was there with his girlfriend Reese Witherspoon. Maggie and Peter got engaged in 2006 when they had their little girl Ramona. Congrats! (Source:USWeekly)

Maggie Gyllenhaal looked unusually chic when she arrived at Late Show with David Letterman in New York City last night. Wearing a black satin dress that looked as though it had been tied on and a black satin headband Maggie looked like she had jumped off the pages of an old 1920's fashion magazine! We love it!
