Poor Lauren! Whatever will she do now? It has just been revealed that the executives over at MTV have scrapped her new reality show because they deemed it to be too highbrow for their viewers. The show was supposed to document Lauren's pursuit of a successful career in fashion and writing after leaving the hit reality series The Hills in 2009, but the lack of private life bored MTV and caused them to cancel the show before they even gave it a chance on air.
Lauren explains, "We sold a show to MTV, filmed it and are really proud of the final result. MTV felt the subject matter was too highbrow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life.
We agreed going into the project that this show would be an 'aspirational' one, focusing on my career and my goals and not my personal relationships. We delivered the show that we sold and are sorry MTV didn't feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it."
Do you think MTV were too quick to shoot down the show or would an entire Lauren Conrad episode without even the slightest hint of drama or intrigue simply of been too dull?
