Angelina Jolie seems to have everything completely together, but through her teens and early 20s, she suffered bouts of depression. After the death of her mother in 2007, she began sliding into another depression and couldn't stop dwelling on negative thoughts. Christina Ricci has suffered from both anorexia and depression. Halle Berry went as far as attempting suicide after her failed marriages. She have said: "I was sitting in my car, and I knew the gas was coming when I had an image of my mother finding me. I had to reprogram myself to see the good in me. Because someone didn't love me didn't mean I was unlovable. I promised myself I would never be a coward again." Lady Gaga have experienced loneliness when she was on the road. "I have a chronic sadness that recurs. The lowest point was when I got overwhelmingly sad, and I didn't know why, because I had all these things to be happy about." Courteney Cox: "I went through a really hard time when Coco turned 6 months. I couldn't sleep. My heart was racing. And I got really depressed." Kylie Minogue became depressed after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. The singer canceled her Showgirl concert tour to make time for surgery and chemotherapy, a break from work that plunged her into a depression. After Gwyneth Paltrow gave birth to her son in 2006, she said: "At my lowest, I was a robot. I just didn't feel anything. I had no maternal instincts for him, it was awful. When I look at pictures of him at three months old, I don't remember that time." Anne Hathaway said that she'd suffered from depression and anxiety as a teenager. Russell Brand's father was mostly absent throughout his childhood. And Russell developed a drug and alcohol addiction. He says he was diagnosed with manic depression and attention-deficit disorder.
