8 Stars Who Turned Down Famous Roles!

Friday 9:05 PM, 07/02/2014
Gravity was one of 2013's biggest movies with Sandra Bullock as the lead role. Angelina Jolie was offered the role at first, but wanted to do other stuff instead.
Lindsay Lohan had the chance to play the stripper Jade in the Hangover movies, but she turned it down because she thought the script had no potential. Bad choice!
Jake Gyllenhaal had the chance to get the male lead role in Avatar as Jake Sully, which later on became the highest grossing movie of all time. He said no, and the part went to Sam Worthington instead.
Rachel McAdams was offered the lead role in The Devil Wears Prada, but turned it down because she wanted to do more serious work. Anne Hathaway got the part instead, which we think she did great!
John Travolta was offered to play the lead role in Forrest Gump in 1994. He turned it down and has later on revealed he regrets his decision.
Gwyneth Paltrow was director James Cameron's first choice to play Rose DeWitt Bukater in Titanic, but she turned it down and the part went to Kate Winslet instead.
Katie Holmes initially offered the role as Buffy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but Katie chose to finish high school instead of taking it.
What if Sarah Jessica Parker never got the part as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City? Or if someone else would've been Buffy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Well, that could've been the case, if the stars that originally were offered the roles would've taken them. Click on the pics and read about the stars that turned down big roles!
