Nelson Mandela turns 90 this year and to celebrate this he has organized a three day party in the British capital of London. Yesterday evening there was a dinner in Hyde Park with guests like Bob Geldof, Uma Thurman, Denzel Washington and Annie Lennox. Tomorrow a birthday concert will be held in London and as we reported earlier, supermodel Naomi Campbell is NOT welcome!

Denzel Washington films hijacking scenes for his new movie, The Taking of Pelham 123, curretly filming on location on the streets of New York. The movie, which is a remake of the 1974 original and due out next year, also stars John Travolta. We look forward to the premier!

Actor Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison for tax evasion by a judge yesterday afternoon. The government claims that Snipes owes a total of $2.7 million in back taxes (though Snipes' attorney argued it was $228,000) and the three-year sentence was the maximum he could get. Letters written by Denzel Washington and Woody Harrelson were written in Snipes' defense but to no avail; this should serve as a reminder for all Hollywood stars that everyone has to pay their taxes!
