Actor Dennis Hopper died yesterday afternoon in his home in Venice, California after losing a long battle with prostate cancer. The actor who is most famous for his roles in Hoosier, Blue Velvet and Apocalypse Now was 74 years old. (Source: TMZ)

Yesterday it was legendary actor Dennis Hopper's turn to get his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and we think he's definitely worth it! A noticably touched Hopper held a speech in front of his friends and family and stars like Viggo Mortensen and Jack Nicholson were there to show their support! Congrats Dennis!

The 61st Cannes Film Festival came to an end this weekend and when the last movie premiered there were only a handful of celebrities left on the red carpet! Robert De Niro, Natalie Portman and Benicio Del Toro stayed to see the award show on Saturday and they all seemed very happy with this year's festival. We've seen several beautiful dresses and even more beautiful people and we're betting most of the Hollywood celebrities had a pleasant stay in the South of France! The prestigious Palme d'Or prize went to the movie Entre Les Murs by Laurent Cantet so congratulations to him and until next year!

The amfAR Cinema Against AIDS 2008 gala took place in Cannes yesterday and attracted a number of Hollywood stars! Natalie Portman, Sharon Stone and Petra Nemcova were just a few of the beautiful women in beautiful gowns who walked the red carpet and everyone seemed to be happy to be there. The event raised funds for AIDS research and we think that's great. Anything that combines charity with Haute Couture is fine by us!
