Coldplay was formed in London, England, after the members had met at the University College Longon (UCL) in 1996. Chris Martin and Jonny Bucklan were the ones who started the group which was originally to be called Pectoralz. When Guy Berryman, a classmate, joined, the band renamed themselves to Starfish and began to play small gigs at clubs in London. It was when Chris Maritin's long-time friend Phil Harvey was recruited as the band's manager and Will Champion joined to take up percussion duties that the band came up with the name "Coldplay". The group has today sold far more than 50 million (!) copies and is considered to be one of the best bands of all time to perform live.
Grammy Awards, BRIT Awards, ECHO Awards, GQ Awards, International Dance Music Award, Juno Award, amongst many other awards and numerous nominations.

We all know Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin from Coldplay are a married couple, but why do we never see them together on the red carpet? Well Gwyneth told Fox News why not, She thinks its cheesy! We would have thought it would be fun to share these kinds of moments with the one you love. Gwen went solo as usual, for the premiere of "Two Lovers" with stars like Joaquin Phoenix, Taylor Momsen, Hilary Duff, Helena Christensen.

Coldplay's singer Chris Martin, married to Gwyneth Paltrow, recently confessed that he actually tried to copy Jeff Buckley's style when he was about to write the song "Shiver" to the group's first album. "It's just at flagrant imitation of Jeff Buckley" are his own words to BBC Radio 1. The artist did however deny all other accusation of copying songs. It has been highly discussed whether Coldplay haven't stolen Joe Satrianis melody from "If I could fly" to their big hit "Viva la vida". Take a look at the clip... suspicious?

Chris Martin says that Coldplay has disbanded seven times, and that's just on their current tour. But the singer insists the group quickly resolve their differences. "We have split up on this tour. Every time we do, we get back together about 20 minutes later - we don't even have time to announce it!"
