Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden has been King of Sweden since the 15th of September 1973, succeeding his grandfather King Gustaf VI Adolf. He is the only son of the late Prince Gustaf Adolf and Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden has three children with Queen Silvia of Sweden: Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine.
