American Idol is a spinoff from Pop Idol created by British Simon Fuller. The aim is to discover the best singer in the country through nationwide auditions. Twelve finalists sing a song and after each song they get criticized by the judges. After each show America must vote for a finalist. The contestant with the least amount of voices is eliminated. The show goes on until their is only one contestant left. The winner is crowned "American Idol" and wins a recording contract worth approx. $1,000,000.

Wow, the list of superstar guest judges on the new season of American Idol just keeps getting bigger and more exciting! First it was Victoria Beckham and Katy Perry is going to be on soon and now we hear the original winner Kelly Clarkson and The Jonas Brother hottie Joe Jonas have also just signed up! Its going to be the best season for judges ever this year, we hope the contestants for the show will be just as good! We can't wait to see what all these stars judging styles will be like!

The newest addition to the American Idol jury Victoria Beckham has gotten a lot of slack for her skinny figure lately and well, what can we say?! Sure Posh is impossibly thin but we still think she looked fresh and happy when she showed up at the Boston auditions a couple of days ago wearing her own design (of course)! What do you think, too skinny?!

Even though Victoria Beckham keeps saying she is focusing on her fashion label right now with fashion week just around the corner and she was only supposed to do a on-off appearance as a guest judge for American Idol, here she is again! The former Spice Girls singer "Posh Spice" was in Boston yesterday for another round on the judging panel for American Idol, filling Paula Abdul's missing place. We think maybe after fashion week is done, we are going to see alot more of her on Idols. We are sure everyone is going to miss Paula Abdul, but its going to be exciting to watch what Posh wears on each show! We hope it happens! (Source: USWeekly)

It looks like the new upcoming season of American Idol is going to an exciting one, especially in terms on who is going to be sitting at the judges table! Last week we were told that former Spice Girls member Posh Spice, aka Victoria Beckham, is making an one-off appearance on the show and now we hear hot new singer Katy Perry has also signed on to be a guest judge! We still don't know if either of them will be taking Paula Abdul's old seat permanently on the show, but so far the two lady stars will only commit to one show. We can't wait to see who else guest judges! (source: X17)

Wow, news of Paula Abdul leaving the judge's table at hit TV show American Idol has only came out yesterday and already a new guest judge has been chosen! American Idol wants former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham! Even though this is a dream job for Posh Spice who knows everything about becoming an idol, she says so far she can only commit to a one-off appearance as guest judge on the show. Victoria says she is focusing on her fashion brand right now, but we know if she is popular on the show, she will so be back! Posh has been trying to get a break in America for years now, this is the perfect job for her! We can't wait to see her in action. (Source: Sky News)

American Idol is still the biggest hit television show in America and its still going strong after 8 seasons! singer/dancer Paula Abdul has been a huge part of the show's success from the very beginning, but now that is all over! Everyone was shocked to hear that Paula is leaving. The rumour is that Paula was not offered a new deal until all the other judges (Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi) and host Ryan Seacrest had signed theirs! Paula asked for a huge raise and in the end didn't get it even though all the others were given huge amounts of money to stay with the show! Pauls says she has no idea what the future holds now and is scared and excited! Wow! What will American Idol be like without her? (Source: People)
