Plot: American Idol is a spinoff from Pop Idol created by British Simon Fuller. The aim is to discover the best singer in the country through nationwide auditions. Twelve finalists sing a song and after each song they get criticized by the judges. After each show America must vote for a finalist. The contestant with the least amount of voices is eliminated. The show goes on until their is only one contestant left. The winner is crowned "American Idol" and wins a recording contract worth approx. $1,000,000.

Virgin mogul Sir Richard Branson hosted his annual "Rock the Kasbah" charity party in Los Angeles last night and as usual it was a star-studded event! Sharon Stone came as Sir Richard's date and was her usual ultra-sexy self in animal print! The Hills' latest star Kristin Cavallari, ex American Idol judge Paula Abdul and pregnant Jenna Elfman were also there, all looking lovely, but one star definitely stood out from the crowd for all the wrong reasons! Lindsay Lohan was a total mess on the red carpet, even in just a simple LBD! She was pulling faces, looking over-bleached and very dehydrated! She needs help!

She is one of hundreds of celebrities who have given their faces to the campaign that encourages Americans to drink cow's milk after a rumour that dairy milk was bad for you, slowed down sales a few years back. Jordin says milk keeps her setting off sparks on stage while she performs. Wow, she is looking stunning, bring on the milk, we want to look like her!

As you all know by now, comedian and talk show star Ellen Degeneres has taken singer Paula Abdul's job on American Idol! Paula hosted the VH1 Divas concert this weekend and she was excellent! She sang and danced and the funniest part of all: her Ellen Degeneres impersonation! Paula walked onto stage dressed like Ellen and copied the dance moves Ellen does on her show, Paula was brilliant and the crowd went wild! Ellen thought it was hilariuos too! Jennifer Aniston was on her friend Ellen Degeneres' daytime talk show yesterday and Ellen had a big surprise for her! Jennifer was talking about an upcoming movie where she will have to sing and learn to play a special kind guitar for her role as a country singer when Ellen suddenly dimmed the lights and made Jen sing a song! Jen complained at first, but she is always up for some fun, so she sang, "I've got a crush on you" for Ellen! She didn't do such a bad job either, or what do you think?

Ellen's own show has won awards for entertainment, so she is going to be great we are sure!

It looks like Paula Abdul will definitely not be returning to the American Idols judging table, ever! Her replacement is pretty exciting though! Talk show host and comedienne Ellen Degeneres has agreed to take Paula's empty spot permanently! Everyone will miss Paula obviously and it was sad to see her go over a money issue, but we are really looking forward to seeing what Ellen gets up to on the show! She is hilarious!
